Kodungaiyur house fire victim dies
A day after the fire caused by LPG leak injured four of a family in Kodungaiyur, one of them succumbed at Kilpauk Medical College (KMC) Hospital on Monday.

The deceased, Geetha (44), is wife of Babu alias Venkataprakasam (55), an employee of Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Perambur. Babu is also undergoing treatment with 85 per cent burns. Geetha suffered 68 per cent burns from head to abdomen and her respiratory system was affected, said KMC sources.Â
While their son Kishore suffered 67 per cent burns, daughter Sharmila has 48 per cent burns. The incident took place in the wee hours of Sunday, when Venkataprakasam switched on the AC unit in their house located at Muthamizh Nagar in Kodungaiyur.
