MTC to ply 243 link services to five temporary bus stands
The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) is planning to operate 243 special link buses on October 15, 16 and 17 to the five temporary bus terminals set up by it to ease the travel of long distance passengers.

Ahead of Deepavali, Anna Nagar (West) bus terminus, Tambaram new bus terminus (MEPZ), Poonamallee bus terminus, CMBT bus terminus and Saidapet court bus terminus were designated as temporary bus stands. According to the MTC officials, the corporation is already operating buses to these five bus terminus or areas from various places in Chennai.
Accordingly, a total of 26 buses will reach Anna Nagar (West), while 80 MTC buses will be plying to Tambaram new bus terminus (MEPZ). Similarly, Poonamallee bus stand will receive 60 buses and 40 special buses will reach Koyambedu. A total of 37 buses will be operated to Saidapet bus terminus.
V Krishnamurthy, Managing Director of MTC, said that the corporation will ensure the convenience of passengers, who will be using the temporary bus terminus. “All the staff will be instructed to monitor the movement of buses and all the drivers and conductors have been asked to be present on time,” he said.
