Overworked Corporation staff attempts suicide, drinks mosquito repellent

The worker, Balamurugan, who was initially under intensive care, is said to be out of danger. Employed as a site inspector in Valasaravakkam, he stays as a tenant in Karambakkam with three other friends. 

On Thursday night, Balamurugan received a phone call from his superiors who reportedly shouted at him over pending works in the ongoing anti-dengue drive. In frustration, he drank the mosquito repellent liquid kept in the house. 

His roommates rushed him to a private hospital. When Valasaravakkam police questioned him, he informed the police that he was burdened with work that required four people to handle it and he was also dejected over the way his superiors treated him. Further investigation is on.
