Suspected dengue case reported in city hospital
Following the dengue related deaths that were reported in the city on Saturday, a case of suspected dengue was reported at the Kanchi Kamakoti CHILDS Trust Hospital, Nungambakam, on Sunday.

Six-year-old Sai Saran of Chengalpettu, was admitted on Wednesday, in a critical condition. Despite having diagnosed it as a case of pneumonia, the statement said that dengue was suspected in the child after a preliminary test found it to be positive, said a statement released by the hospital.Â
Meanwhile, the number of people including children succumbing to mysterious fevers continue to be on the rise with at least two to three more suspected cases reported from western and southern districts. Health secretary Radhakrishnan urged public to take up preventive measures on a war footing.
