2 more dengue deaths recorded in Chennai
Following the first dengue death of an IITM student in the state, eight-year-old Krithik Ram, son of Ranjith Kumar, Inspector at the Neelankarai police station, was reported to have died of the disease on Monday.

A resident of the Kipauk police quarters, he was unwell for four days and was shifted to the Apollo Hospital on Greams Road on Saturday. A blood test confirmed dengue.
On Sunday, another death of nineyearold Bhargav, son of Venkatesh Babu, who is a resident of Thousand Lights, was reported. A fourth standard student of DAV, Gopalapuram, he fell sick and was admitted to a private hospital. His blood test confirmed dengue.
As his condition did not improve, he was rushed to Apollo Children’s Hospital, Thousand Lights. He was then transferred to Kanchi Kamakoti Hospital in Nungambakkam, where he died within a couple of hours. In another case, Divya, a 12-year-old from Maduranthagam, died of suspected dengue at the Institute of Child Health and Children’s Hospital, Egmore, on Monday.
“We are awaiting her reports which will be known on Tuesday,” said Director of the hospital, Dr Ravichandran.
