    The city police have fixed August 27, 31 and September 3 for the immersion of Vinayaka idols, at the culmination of Vinayaka Chathurthi celebrations. They have also given a detailed route map for the procession. 

    Immersion of idols is permitted at Seenivasapuram, Palkalai Nagar, Kasimedu fishing harbour and Ramakrishna Nagar in Ennore. three different wings of Shiv Sena have sought permission to conduct the idol procession on Sunday (today). Around 10 am, Radhakrishnan wing will begin the procession from Pulianthope and will reach Kasimedu fishing harbour, while Yuvasena will start from RK Nagar around 11 am. Kandhar Sena from southern parts of the city will also begin the procession from Pallavaram around 11 am. Elaborate security measures have been charted, to ensure that the idol procession goes off peacefully, said police.
