‘Bullet’ Kumaran’s son arrested at Chennai airport
Almost two years after the murder of reformed rowdy Murali at Zam Bazaar, police arrested the main accused, ‘Bullet’ Kumaran’s son Vignesh (25) at Chennai International airport on Monday while he was trying to escape to Malaysia.
Chennai
Zam Bazaar Inspector said a look out notice for Vignesh was issued to the airport officials. On Monday night, they identified him when he arrived at the airport to board a flight to Kuala Lumpur and alerted the Triplicane police.
A team of cops rushed to the airport and secured Vignesh, who was later handed over to Zam Bazaar police. Vignesh is one of the seven accused in the murder of Murali, who was hacked to death by friend-turned-foe ‘Bullet’ Kumaran, at the latter’s house and was aided by his wife and four sons. While ‘Bullet’ Kumaran, wife Santhi and one of his sons surrendered before a judicial magistrate two months later, his elder son Vikram Kumar was arrested with weapons at the Marina Beach last year. However, Vignesh and his younger brother Vishnu Kumar were at large. Now, with the arrest of Vignesh, the last of accused, Vishnu Kumar is also expected to be secured soon.
‘Bullet’ Kumaran and his family murdered Murali in September 2015 over previous enmity as the latter had named Kumaran as one of the accused in another murder case.
