    College students clash at railway station

    Two students suffered injuries in a clash between the students of Sir Theagaraya College and Presidency College at Washermenpet railway station on Wednesday.

    Logesh (17), a first-year student of BA History from Avadi, injured his shoulder, while Ajay (18), a second-year student of BA Economics, suffered a deep-cut injury in his left hand wrist. Both belong to Theagaraya College and are undergoing treatment at Stanley Hospital. The incident happened around 2.05 pm, when a group of Presidency College students challenged Theagaraya students boarding the Beach to Pattabiram train they were travelling in. It is said that they didn’t like Theagaraya students supporting Pachaiyappa’s College students in their protests. Based on a complaint from Washermenpet railway station master, Washermenpet police have registered a case and are searching the attackers.
