‘Don’ Sridhar will soon be extradited: Cops

“We have got some leads and it is not proper to disclose the location of the accused at present. He has to face the judicial proceedings in  our State and we are taking the steps to extradite him to India,” Santhosh Hadimani, SP, Kancheepuram, told DTNext. 

The Kancheepuram police interrogated Santhosh Sridhar for about 15 hours on Sunday regarding the financial dealings and his father’s present location. “He has given us details and we are working on them. The case is in the right direction,” the SP said. 

Police said that they had been waiting for Santhosh to come to the country from the UK, where he is studying as Sridhar had been in constant touch with his children and wife. His brothers and close associates have already been arrested and put behind bars. Sridhar, who was controlling his fiefdom in Kancheepuram, while sitting at Dubai, had reportedly shifted his base to Sri Lanka, once the police started tightening their grip on him. 

The Enforcement Directorate also stepped in and attached the properties of Sridhar Dhanapal. They also got his bank accounts frozen, draining the don of his revenue sources. 

Kancheepuram police sources told DTNext that they had investigated Santhosh regarding his father’s travel itinerary and the money transactions. Police interrogated him on Sridhar’s overseas associates and his businesses abroad.  Police sources also said Sridhar is likely to be extradited soon and arrested.
