Youth threatens ex-girlfriend with pics; held

The marriage is said to have been called off, after which the victim Lakshmi (name changed) filed a complaint against the accused Deepak alias Danny from T P Chathiram at Kilpauk All Women Police station. 

When Deepak was secured and interrogated, he is said to have admitted to the crime, according to police sources. Police said that Deepak, a BBA graduate, and Lakshmi met a year before at girl’s father’s athletic training centre in Egmore. Their relationship grew over the next few months and Deepak allegedly sexually exploited the girl. 

However, when Lakshmi proposed for marriage, Deepak declined, following Lakshmi called off the relationship and decided to pursue MBA. 

However, when Deepak came to know recently that Lakshmi has been engaged to another man, he began threatening the girl. But when she stopped responding to Deepak’s calls, he managed to get the groom’s contact number and sent the photos clicked with Lakshmi. Deepak has been booked under rape charges among other sections and remanded to judicial custody.
