Major fire at Chennai Silks showroom at T Nagar
Traffic was thrown out of gear on the busy T Nagar on Wednesday morning because of a major fire accident at the Chennai Silks showroom. The fire control room received a fire call at 4 am and seven fire tenders are still struggling to put out the fire.

Fire service sources said four persons who were trapped inside the building have been rescued but the fire tenders are finding it difficult to enter the showroom because of a thick cloud of smoke.
"The extent of fire inside the showroom is yet to be ascertained as the entire area is filled with thick smoke. Our personnel could not go inside," a fire service official said.
Fire tenders are placed in all sides of the building to stop the fire from spreading to the adjacent buildings.Â
Police have cordoned off the entire area and have diverted the traffic.Â
