The second instalment of the talks between the techies and CTS before the labour officials scheduled to take place was put off to Wednesday reportedly without any reason.

Sources said the case had been forwarded to a different labour official for further action, and this was revealed to the affected techies in the evening whereas the second meeting was scheduled to take place at 11 am.

As many as 10 employees who were serving the notice period while some were in the process of tendering resignation due to the force exerted by the organisation, appeared for the conciliation in vain. The next round of conciliation would now take place before S Kalaivani, JC (Labour), at her chamber at 12.30 pm on Wednesday.

Repeated efforts by DTNext to reach Joint Commissioner (Labour) R Ravishankar, who was supposed to hold the conciliation, for his comments failed.

“We were informed that the reconciliation was rescheduled after we were made to wait at the DMS complex throughout the day. Everyday lost during the conciliation process would only benefit the employer, while bringing down the morale of already struggling employees. The firm is trying to wriggle out of this situation by shifting the blame on to the employees, and their performance,” said AJ Vinod, general secretary, Forum for IT Employees (FITE), which is representing the affected employees.

Meanwhile, another communique from FITE the techies not to fall prey to a splinter group which is also retaining the name- FITE in their communications, and to access the official page (www.fite.org.in) for contacts.

“Any other announcement in the name of FITE with different contact details is not originally from our organisation. Please stay in touch only with authentic contact details that is provided on our website. As always, FITE is committed to fighting against all the illegalities against IT, ITES, BPO and KPO employees,” the communique read.
