Man held for attacking wife
The Mangadu police on Friday arrested a 24-year-old man for assaulting his wife at her residence. His elder brother too was held for the assault, following a complaint from the woman.

Police said Hemalatha (19), a resident of Bharanipuram, Ayyappanthangal, lodged a police complaint alleging that her husband Karunakaran and his elder brother Mahesh came to her house and assaulted her.Â
Police said Hemalatha and Karunakaran, who work as a daily wage labourer, got married six months ago. However, trouble started brewing between the couple and Hemalatha left Karunakaran’s house. On Friday, the brothers allegedly assaulted her and escaped.Â
