When the first bench comprising Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice M Sundar commenced their sitting on Thursday, Madras High Court Advocates Association, president Mohanakrishnan made a mention about a newspaper article in a Tamil daily that appeared on May 3 detailing as to how the parents had committed suicide since all their three children were afflicted  with polio.

Based on this, the bench directed the Government Pleader MK Subramanian to take necessary action and ensure that the orphaned children are shifted to a government children’s home.

However, following the Government Pleader’s submission later that the District Collector has assured to move the kids to children’s home in Villupuram, the bench recorded the same and closed the plea, which it had taken suo motu cognisance of.
