Yamaha to set up 28-acre unit for musical instruments in city
In what sounds like music to the ears of Chennai’s melodically inclined masses, one of the world’s most reputed makers of musical instruments, Yamaha, will now set up a factory in Chennai.

The facility will manufacture portable keyboards, acoustic guitars, and other professional audio equipment, which will be sold at mass-market prices – keeping in mind, the expanding market for high quality musical goods in the city and emerging markets beyond.
The 28-acre factory will be set up in OneHub and is scheduled to go into operation in January 2019. The industrial township OneHub is located 50 km south of Chennai, in Kanchipuram district.
Speaking about the development, Takashi Haga, Chairman, Yamaha Music India, said, “With this new facility, we will be able to provide high-quality musical instruments that cater to the growing market at competitive prices and domestic markets.”
