Minor among two held for cell phone snatching
The Maduravoyal police on Sunday caught two youth, including a minor, for snatching a mobile phone from a man on the pretext of making an emergency call.

Police said, S Sundar (36), a resident of MMDA Colony, was waiting on the road side near Pushpa Garden at Ganga Nagar in Maduravoyal. At that time, two youth approached him and requested him to give his phone to make an emergency call.Â
When Sundar handed over his cell phone to one of the youth, the duo kept moving away from him on the pretext of speaking over the phone. Sundar shouted for help and a police patrol team from Maduravoyal, that was stationed close by, chased and caught the youth.Â
The accused were later identified as S Murali (19) and another a 17-year-old boy, both hailing from Nerkundram area. Police recovered the mobile phone and handed it over to Sundar.Â
They registered a case and arrested Murali and he was remanded to judicial custody. The boy has been sent to a government observation home.
