MLA picks up quarrel with search squad

The MLA was sitting in his car when it was stopped for the customary check by central and state police officials. The MLA refused to get down from the car and when the paramilitary official looked inside the vehicle, he saw brand new Rs 2,000 notes in the MLA’s hand. 

When asked about the source of funds, Bharathi said that it was for personal expenses. The central staff demanded that he get down so that the vehicle could be checked, the agitated MLA picked a quarrel with the CISF officials. 

Things looked as if it could get out of hand as Bharathi threatened the officer against touching him, when local cops stepped in and intervened. They allowed him to proceed. No case was registered nor was the money seized. Bharathi belongs to the TTV Dinakaran AIADMK Amma faction.
