Water tanker kills student on motorbike
A Class 12 student who was riding a bike was fatally knocked down by an water tanker near Kamarajar Salai on Wednesday night. His friend, who was riding pillion, also suffered serious injuries and has been admitted to Government General Hospital. Both studied at Madras Christian College school at Chetpet.

The police said, Vijay (17), along with his friend S Gokulnath (17), had come to the Marina beach on Wednesday night on a two-wheeler. While they were returning, an oil tanker which was approaching from the War Memorial side hit the bike head on. They were rushed to the Government General Hospital but Vivek later succumbed.Â
Police arrested the tanker driver Tirumalaikumar.
