From advocates to working professionals extend a helping hand to farmers

Koushik Raam, a second-year medical student visits the protesters daily to show his solidarity towards the cause. “There are doctors from AIIMS who have conducted camps for the farmers. We have also formed teams to take care of other essentials,” says Koushik.

“We became close during the jallikattu protest. When we heard that the farmers were coming to New Delhi, we formed groups to take care of their needs. For instance, there is one group that is taking care of the funds. Some of us are helping farmers to book tickets to go home. And there are others who take care of food and water,” he added.

From advocates to doctors and from working professionals to students there are people coming in every day to support. Manoj S, an advocate from Delhi says, “I have been coming here for a fortnight. We are all connected through WhatsApp and Facebook.

There are around 30 volunteers on any given day.” Those who are unable to make it to Jantar Mantar, are helping organisers with funds to show their support for the cause.
