MLA relieved from post for boycott
The ruling AIADMK on Wednesday relieved rebel MLA PRG Arunkumar, who had boycotted the not rust vote won by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami in the State Assembly last month, from the party post for switching loyalty to the rebel camp headed by former CM O Panneerselvam.

In a statement here, AIADMK Deputy General Secretary TTV Dinakaran said Arunkumar, representing Coimbatore North, was relieved from the post of Coimbatore District Secretary. He also announced that AIADMK Ukkadam Ward Secretary Amman K Arcjunan, MLA, was elected in place of Arunkumar.Â
Dinakaran said the statement was issued with the approval of AIADMK General Secretary VK Sasikala. Arunkumar was among the more than 120 MLAs housed in the Koovathur resort for nearly 10 days ahead of the no confidence vote sought by the the Chief Minister on February 18.
