Meanwhile, Dean of MMC, Narayanan Swamy and other professors arrived at the commissioner’s office to submit a representation seeking intervention for Sudheer.

Sudheer is a professor of Orthopaedics. He was arrested on February 24 by the UP police. They claimed that two cheques, one for Rs 74 lakh and the other for Rs 24 lakh had bounced in Lucknow.

Speaking to DTNext, convenor of Government All Doctors Association, A Karthikeyan said, “In 2013 when Sudheer borrowed Rs 20 lakh from a financier, Kamaraj of Puraswalkam, for 5 per cent interest. He had paid the principal amount of Rs 1.2 lakh between 2014 and 2016. However, Kamaraj allegedly prepared false documents and misused a blank cheque Sudheer had given to him. In May 2016, Sudheer lodged a complaint against Kamaraj at Teynampet station.”

Meanwhile, Kamaraj gave the documents to two others in Lucknow who lodged a false case against him. The complainant alleged that Sudheer had agreed to build a medical college for Rs one crore. Karthikeyan said, “Sudheer is a diabetic patient on insulin. He must be given bail. The inquiry can be conducted later.”
