SK Kaul set to become SupremeCourt judge
The Madras High Court, Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, is all set to be elevated as Supreme Court judge with his name figuring among the five judges recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium.

Sources say that the process is likely to take shape by February 8.Â
The list recommended by the Collegium includes four Chief Justices – Justice SK Kaul (Madras HC), Justice M Shantana Goudar (Kerala HC), Dipak Gupta (Chhattisgarh HC), Justice Naveen Sinha (Rajasthan HC) - and one sitting judge Justice S Abdul Nazeer of the Karnataka HC.Â
Justice Kaul graduated in Economics (Hons.) from St. Stephens College in 1979. He obtained LL.B. Degree from Campus Law Centre, DU in 1982 and joined the Bar the same year. He practiced at Delhi High Court and was designated Senior Advocate in 1999. He became an additional judge of the Delhi High Court in 2001 and was made permanent judge in 2003. He became Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court in June, 2013 before being transferred to Madras HC in July, 2014.
