“I shall soon create a public profile so that people will directly get to know who I am,” she said. Rubbishing claims about holding ‘secret’ parleys with AIADMK cadre, Deepa said, “What is the need for me to hold secret talks when I can talk to people who come to my house from various places?” Asked about her plans to tour the state and get feedback from public and party cadre on joining the AIADMK or starting a new party, she said “Soon, we will tour some of the major districts for about three weeks. I do not think we will be touring the entire state.
We are working out the strategy on whom to meet and where to go.” Asked why she had not stated her stand on jallikattu or visited the protesters on the Marina, Deepa said “My views given to the media were not carried in Chennai papers. Moreover, my husband Madhavan and I did visit the Marina when the protest was on, but I stayed back in the car.
