Sources told DTNext that the team hardly had any time investigating the case as the cops had been busy with the protest and other VVIP bundobust duties. “The investigation and crime detection will happen once the city comes back to normalcy. Policemen have a handful of other works in the name of law and order upkeep,” another police official said.
Dr Narasimha Reddy (74), was found dead with his hands and legs tied down and throat slit at his fist floor apartment at Karpagam Garden Aveneu, Besant Nagar on Saturday. Reddy had discontinued his medical practice and has been living as a small-time money lender. Police suspect it to be a case of murder for gain as the assailants broke open the balcony door to gain entry. Reddy was also assaulted prior to being murdered as there were several bruises on his body, police said.
Reddy has been living alone at the house and police suspected the involvement of two of his relatives and a servant, who had stopped coming for work about a week back, in the murder. Possible troubles in financial transactions are also being investigated, police said.
