Chennai
Soha Ali Khan, daughter of veteran actress Sharmila Tagore and ace cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi has been blessed with a great lineage. But the pretty woman has also managed to carve her niche in the film industry with movies like Rang De Basanti, Midnight’s Children, Sa hib Biwi Aur Gangster Returns and more. While she might not have had a dream run at the box-office, the academically-sound actress has been in news for speaking her mind. She was in the city for the launch of an outlet of Advance Beauty and Cosmetic Clinic in Alwarpet.
On her visit to Chennai
I’m visiting the city after almost four years. The city and its people have been through a lot of pain in the past few days with the sudden demise of CM Jayalalithaa followed by the disastrous cyclone Vardah. However, it is inspiring to see how the city has bounced
back in no time. It is this spirit that makes the city what it is. I remember watching the news about the vast destruction that the floods had caused last year and was touched by how the citizens helped each other.
And speaking about Jayalalithaa ji , my mother was reminiscing the other day about how the late leader loved cricket and would come to watch my father (Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi) play at the Chepauk stadium. More than I, my parents have fond memories associated with the city.
On her newly-born nephew Taimur
He’s a beautiful baby just like his parents. There’s a new member in the family after almost 16 years and the entire khandaan is upbeat. Every time, there’s a new addition, you get a chance to relive your childhood. So it is a beautiful feeling and I am looking forward to play with him.
Her idea of beauty
It’s important not to conform to a blueprint or a stereotypical image when it comes to beauty. It’s all about how you are as a person ‘inside’ irrespective of physical imperfections. Having said that, in an industry like ours, that one strand of hair out of place or dull skin grabs all the attention. So, it’s important to take some time to feel good about your skin, hair and your face. Because, at the end of the day, it does give you confidence, when you’re out there.
