    Two men killed in separate accidents

    Two motorists were killed in different accidents in the city on Thursday and early on Friday.

    In the first accident, Vignesh (30), a resident of Manapakkam, was killed on the spot after his two-wheeler collided head on with another two-wheeler around 9.30 pm on the Velachery-Madipakkam Road.  

    Police said Vignesh was returning home from Vijayanagar when the mishap took place. The other rider,  Raghupathi Rajan also suffered injuries and has been hospitalised. 

    In the second accident, a railway employee, who was on his way to Coimbatore after visiting his son in the city, died after the bike ridden by his son rear-ended a lorry on Kathipara flyover. 

    Police said, the deceased, Viswanathan (58), had come to visit his son Senthil Kumar, residing at Porur. Senthil was taking Viswanathan, to the railway station. While they were on the flyover, Senthil lost control of the bike and it hit a lorry plying ahead. Viswanathan died on the way to the hospital. An injured Senthil Kumar has been hospitalised.
