He can inspire anyone, says CPM secretary

Citing the address of Castro at the conclave to drive home his point, the CPM secretary said “Interestingly, Castro delivered a six-hour long address in the conference, which was reportedly one of his longest speeches. As we were not able to comprehend his talk in Spanish, all of us were given headphones to listen the translated version in English.”

“Socialism or Death” Castro’s repeatedly thundered and it still rings in my ears and echoes in my heart, Ramakrishnan pointed out. 

When asked, what made him feel emotional during the meet, he said, “During the conference, a child spoke that she earlier had  education, health and other facilities, but all of them were missing now. It is not because of our Castro, but the US. On hearing this, the crowd gave a standing ovation even as Castro rushed and embraced her,” the CPM leader said. 

“In a bold parting shot, Castro said that his country can tackle emergency and will overcome this crisis. His tone was a testimony to his courage and confidence that he had on Cuba’s friends. I salute Castro,” he concluded.
