Corporation to accept demonetised notes till December 15
Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) will accept the demonetised Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes until December 15, to pay property tax, according to Corporation officials.

To facilitate the public, 446 special counters have been operational for those who want to pay their property tax. The public can pay their taxes in any of the counters on all days (except Sunday). The service has helped the public, who have queued up to pay their taxes while trying to get rid of the demonetised notes.Â
The Corporation has so far collected Rs 70.52 crore and with the announcement of the extension, these numbers are all set to go up.Â
