The cyber crime wing of Chennai city police had not registered an FIR yet in the cyber stalking complaint given by actor Shruti Haasan.
Chennai
Shruti’s agent Praveen Antony had recently lodged a petition with the cyber crime branch on the behalf of the actress alleging that a doctor named KG Guruprasad had been sending her obscene messages and threats to her personal twitter handle. CCB sources said the petitioner, Praveen Antony, had not appeared for enquiry even after repeated summons and hence no FIR could be registered. “We have called Praveen Antony for enquiry. But he has not turned up yet and hence we could not proceed with the complaint,” a cyber crime official said.
However, police have not summoned Shruti, who is the complainant for inquiry yet. Ironically, police consider Praveen Antony as the petitioner, who had just handed over the complaint to the cyber crime branch alleging torture from Guruprasad to Shruti. police had made enquiries about the whereabouts of Guruprasad and has found him absconding.
“The accused person is absconding. We will launch a search for him once the FIR is registered,” the official added. In her complaint Shruti Haasan had complained that Guruprasad had been stalking her and sending obscene messages to her in her personal twitter handle @Shrutihaasan. She said the person had also threatened to murder her. She said the person, Guruprasad was attached to the Haasan Institute of Medical Sciences in Karnataka.
