Speaking to DTNext, police said that they have received the report from the Collector. “We are going through it and will soon file an FIR.”
The report of the sixth victim Christha (65) revealed that poison, yellow phosphorous, traces were found in the body, said Dr K Kolandaisamy, Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine adding, “However, we are not taking any chance. If anyone takes ill, we will bring them to Chennai for treatment because in the earlier deaths there was delay.”
Vincent, who was the latest one to fall ill in the same family with same symptoms, has been admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai. Kolandasamy said, “He is stable now, but the effect of poison will take a few more days to subside.” Sources said the bodies of other members might be exhumed for a detailed investigation.
Over a month, six members of the family died, raising alarm among villagers.
