Premalatha reacted in a rush, says Vaiko
MDMK chief Vaiko, who was called an emotional person who often changed his stance, by Premalatha Vijayakant after he allegedly told media that naming DMDK president Vijayakant as CM candidate during the most recent assembly elections, said that Premalatha had responded without going through his full speech.

Speaking to reporters, Vaiko said that Premalatha would have understood his statement in proper perspective if she listened to the full speech. “I had only replied to questions raised by the media,” he said. “It is a plain fact that before the last Assembly elections, the PWF was determined not to announce a CM candidate and in such a situation, number of political parties were trying to rope in Vijayakant, particularly DMK party put its full efforts to bring the DMDK into the folder. But, Vijayakant sidelined all of them and joined PWF,” the MDMK chief noted. “This led the PWF to announce Captain as CM candidate.” Stating that he never criticised DMDK leader, Vaiko said that he has always high respect for Vijayakant and as Premalatha misunderstood his speech, he was compelled to respond to the allegation. It may be noted that Premalatha on Sunday hit out at Vaiko stating that he was the one who approached the DMDK and requested Vijayakant to head the alliance but now he was speaking against DMDK and its leader Vijayakant. A senior leader of DMDK said that they were not taking Vaiko’s comments seriously. “Everyone has a right to express opinions particularly in politics and every opinion need not be taken seriously,” the leader said.
