Referring to the serial murders that took place in Chennai recently, particularly three teenagers at Kannagi Nagar during Deepavali and elderly woman Shanthi at T Nagar and another woman at Muggies Garden this week, the DMK treasurer said the city has become unsafe for women and the spurt in crimes have made people to lose faith in the administration.

Stalin said that it is the duty of finance Minister Pannerselvam who is looking after the home department in the place of recovering Chief Minister to arrest the deterioration in law and order situation in the city and all over the state.

Elaborating on the various measures taken to optimise the security of people, during the 2006-11 DMK regime, the DMK treasurer said the city has become unsafe owing to the incumbent regime’s failure to follow the measures.
