Defending the action of the Madhya Pradesh police, the BJP leader, while addressing media persons here on Tuesday, questioned the patriotism of leaders who condemned the incident.

When asked about the lack of evidence, which indicates that the encounter could be fake, Raja replied that even if the encounter was fake he would support it as the terrorists had killed a policeman. “Is it wrong to kill terrorists who had murdered a policeman?” he asked .

    UCC need of the hour

When asked about the views expressed by the Congress spokesperson Khushbu on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), the BJP functionary replied that he would support the actor-turned-politician on the issue and added that she seemed to have a clear understanding about the problems of Muslim women.

Pointing out that the case was filed by Muslim women, who were affected by the ‘triple talaq’ practice, he also questioned that whether Muslims living in other European countries and USA have separate shariat law.

He also condemned the politicians who speak against the Uniform Civil Code and claimed that even Ambedkar had included clauses for implementation of it in the Constitution. Those speaking against the implementation of Uniform Civil Code were speaking against Ambedkar, charged Raja.

    Jallikattu

When asked why leaders within BJP differed in their views on jallikattu , Raja said, “As the national secretary of the party I assure that jallikattu will be conducted in 2017.”

Meanwhile, a jallikattu organisation has extended its support to BJP in the Tirupparakundram by-election. Karthikeyan, treasurer, Manjuvirattu Tamilina Kalachara Padhugappu Iyakkam, extended his support to the BJP in the presence of Raja.
