Youth murdered at Vyasarpadi

A 29-year-old man from Vyasarpadi was stabbed to death by a gang near the Vyasarpadi Jeeva railway station on Saturday night, police said.

The victim Pazhani, a resident of Second Street in BV Colony was riding his two-wheeler near the railway station after celebrating Deepavali with his family when an unidentified gang rounded him up. Upon noticing that the men carried knives, sickles and other weapons, Pazhani dropped his bike and took off on foot. “But the assailants chased and attacked him in full public view. Before the youth could be rushed to the nearest hospital, he succumbed to injuries,” a police officer said. 

According to police, Kathiravan, son of notorious history-sheeter Chera alias Rajendran, had a feud with the victim. Police suspect that Kathiravan and an associate could have murdered Pazhani to settle the feud. Vyasarpadi police have registered a case. They have launched a hunt for Kathiravan and his associate.
