Special Officers take charge of civic bodies

Commissioners of Municipal Corporations were the special officers of the respective Corporations, while Commissioners of the municipalities were the special officers of their respective municipalities. Assistant directors and executive officers of the town panchayats took over as special officers of the two categories of town panchayats.

Meanwhile, filing of nominations for the November 19 Assembly elections to three constituencies, will commence on Wednesday. The last date for filing of nomination is November 2 and the scrutiny would take place the next day. The last date for withdrawal of nominations will end on November 5. Elections would be held to Thanjavur, Aravakurichi and Tiruparankundram seats.
