Girl sexually assaulted by painters

According to police, the victim was alone at home on Thursday as her father had gone to work while her mother had gone to visit a relative. Knowing that the girl was alone at home, the two accused identified as Purushothaman (26) and Parandhaman (28) from a nearby locality, reportedly abducted the victim and took her to a secluded place, where they allegedly sexually assaulted her. When the girl’s mother returned home late in the night, she realised that her daughter was missing. She searched for her daughter in the locality but was unable to trace her. 

The victim returned home and broke down while narrating the incident to her mother. On hearing this, the mother took her daughter to the Airport police station, and lodged a complaint against the two painters. 

Following the complaint, the police registered a case under various sections including the POCSO Act and immediately detained the two accused. 

They were produced before Judicial Magistrate Court. Subsequently, they were remanded in judicial custody.
