Cadre get busy with poll meeting as arch rivals name candidates

In Thanjavur, the AIADMK candidate and North District secretary Rangasamy had convened a working committee meeting and requested for good cooperation within the party. “We will offer the winning of the seat at the feet of our beloved Amma and show the people of Thanjavur are with her and the AIADMK,” he said. 

Meanwhile, the DMK camp is elated with announcement of in charge persons with MLAs and strong men Durai Chandrasekar (Thiruvaiyaru MLA) for Thanjavur and KN Nehru (Tiruchy West MLA) for Aravakurichi as both are known for their field work and forming strategies. Sources from DMK said that both Durai Chandrasekar and KN Nehru had already begun their basic work.

They are asked to report to the Leader of Opposition and party treasurer MK Stalin and would brief the daily happenings to him. Sources said that Stalin had told them that election in Thanjavur and Aravakurichi is inevitable for the party as it would express the mindset of the people and would play a report card for the AIADMK government and at the same time, with these two winnings, the total number of MLAs would increase.  In the meantime, the Returning officer and Karur district collector G Govindaraj who convened the Zonal officers briefed them about the Model Code of Conduct and urged the officials involved in vehicle check not to create inconvenience to the public and mar the festival mood of the people.
