‘Jayalalithaa gets physio support’
Apollo Hospitals that has been giving a day-today update on the condition of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, in a bulletin on Saturday said, “The honourable Chief Minister continues to be under constant monitoring by the intensivists and consultants in the panel (of specialists).”

The bulletin further said, “the CM is undergoing lung decongestion as well as other comprehensive measures and continues to be under constant monitoring.” The hospital’s Chief Operating Officer Subbiah Viswanathan said in a press release that respiratory support “is being closely watched and adjusted.”
“Lungs decongestion treatment is being continued. All the other comprehensive measures including nutrition, supportive therapy and passive physiotherapy are under way,” he said.
Leader of Opposition and DMK treasurer M K Stalin, who visited the Apollo Hospitals, along with senior leaders, on Saturday told reporters that the bulletin released at the time of her admission by the hospital said she would be discharged in a few days, but a recent bulletin suggests that she would require longer stay. Recalling Karunanidhi’s earlier message to Jayalalithaa, Stalin said, “Karunanidhi asked me to meet, if not the CM, at least ministers and doctors monitoring the treatment. We met the doctors and finance minister O Panneerselvam, Lok Sabha deputy speaker Thambidurai and health minister Dr Vijayabhaskar. They said she is recovering.”
Earlier in the day, Tamilisai Soundararajan, State BJP president, visited the Apollo Hospitals and met the team of doctors attending on the Chief Minister.
Vaiko, general secretary of the MDMK, who visited the hospital and had a meeting with Dr. Richard Beale, the Intensivist from London, later told reporters that Jayalalithaa would be back home soon.
