Officials directed to inspect Tiruparankundram temple
The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court(Madurai Bench) had taken suo motu action on Tiruparakundram Murugan Temple and directed the officials to carry out inspection at the temple, on Wednesday.
Madurai
Viswanthan, a resident of Tiruparakundram, in his letter to the administrative Judge, S. Nagamuthu, claimed that there are practical difficulties in offering prayers at Sri Subramaniya Swamy Temple at Tiruparakundram.Â
Though it is a Murugan Temple, it has five important deities. Three deities Murugan, Ganesh and Durgai Amman are located in a single row, while Shiva and Perumal deities are located in the right and left side of the three deities.Â
Devotees who prefer the free darshan can only approach three dieties, while prayers can be offered to Shiva and Vishnu also, only if you pay for it. The system should be changed and people who go on free darshans should also be allowed to worship and offer prayers to Shiva and Vishnu.Â
Based on the letter of Viswanthan, judges took suo motu action and issued directions to the Joint Commissioner of Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments department, Madurai Collector and Executive Officer of the Murugan temple to carry out inspection at the temple on Thursday and to submit a report in the Court on Friday, October 7.
