The incident happened in 2007 when Jayanthi, from Achampathu near Tirumangalam, had undergone a tubectomy after the birth of her second daughter. But after few months Jayanthi became pregnant once again and when she approached the Tirumangalam GH the doctors informed her that the birth control surgery was a failure. Immediately she sued Tirumangalam GH and Madurai GRH was also a respondent in the case. In the final verdict, the court had ordered the GRH Management to pay Rs.4.5 lakhs as compensation to Jayanthi but the GRH management had not paid her. Hence Jayanthi had approached the Court and obtained a japti notice.Â
