State school HMs seek Central pay
The Tamil Nadu High and Higher Secondary School Headmasters’ Association has urged the state government to constitute seventh pay commission and implement Union Government’s pay scale.
Chennai
Sami Sathyamurthy, president of the association said that government needs to address anomalies in the current pay scales of teachers and government employees and constitute seventh pay commission, which would facilitate them to get salary on par with union employees.
“We also request the state government to pass orders to revert to the old pension scheme rather than the present general provident fund,” he said. The association pointed out that the state government should consult educationists from the state before submitting its view to the union government on the “Some Inputs for Draft National Education Policy – 2016” as there were some negative points in the draft policy, which affect students from poor and rural sections.
