HC denies bail to four accused in newspaper office attack case
The bail petition of four accused in Dinakaran office attack case was rejected by the HC Bench at Madurai.
Madurai
In the bail petition filed by the four accused, Ramaiah Pandian, Ramesh Pandian, Vazhivittan and Kandasamy, they claimed innocence and pleaded the court to grant bail. During the hearing on Friday, CBI opposed the petition and urged the court not to give bail. Following the argument the bail petition was rejected. It is worth remembering that the attack, which left three employees dead, was made on Madurai Dinakaran newspaper office in 2007 after the daily published a news predicting DMK treasurer MK Stalin as the political heir of DMK chief M Karunanidhi over his elder son and ex-Union Minister MK Alagiri. When Madurai Principal District and Sessions Court acquitted all 17 accused including ‘Attack’ Pandi, the prime accused in murder case of ‘Pottu’ Suresh, CBI appealed the High Court against the order in 2011.
