Sources said that Anandhan, owner of a private company at Nandambakkam, presented a cheque filled with a sum of Rs 2 crore in the name of a Bengaluru-based firm. On a thorough check, bank officials found the cheque to be a fake instrument.
On information, police arrested Anandhan. During the interrogations he spilled the beans and admitted that eight of his associates were also involved in the fraud. Subsequently, his eight associates were also arrested. An investigation was on to see who have prepared these fake cheques.
