    Chief Minister’s medals for 14 police officers

    The state government on Sunday announced Chief Minister’s awards and medals to 14 police officers on the occasion of Independence day.

    An official release here said, “In recognition of the excellent work performed in criminal investigation and with a view to applaud the commitment and dedication to work, nine police officers were selected for the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Police medal for excellence in investigation. 

    Chief Minister’s Awards: 

    This award would be presented to NIB-CID ASP S Arvind, Tindivanam DSP N Silambarasan, Udumalpet DSP M Vivekanandan, Vazhapadi DSP M Somasundaram, Tiruppur CB-CID Inspector S Sreemathy, Ramnathapuram district CB-CID Inspector D Saravanakumar, Virudhunagar district Special Branch Inspector a Dharmalingam, Coimbatore City Serious Crime Squad Inspector T Jothi and Trichy district AWPS Jeeyapuram Inspector R Hemalatha. 

    Medal winners: 

    The release said, similarly as a token of recognition of the outstanding work done and the strong commitment to keenness, zeal and selfless public service, five police officers would be awarded the Chief Minister’s Police Medals for excellence in Public Service. The awards would be given to ADGP Law and Order JK Tripthy, North Zone IG NK Senthamarai Kannan, Thanjavur Range DIG T Senthilkumar, Tiruvarur district SP NM Mylvahanan and Kumbakonam DSP S Baskar.

    All the medal winners would receive a lump sum grant of Rs 5,000 and a gold medal weighing eight grams. The medals would be presented by the Chief Minister at a special function to be held in due course, the release said. 

    Last year, T Prabhaharan, Inspector, “Q” Branch CID (then), M Damodaran, Inspector, Special Division CID (then), and R Senthilkumar, Grade I Police Constable 1363 (then), were among the recepients of CM Awards.
