Earlier this week, there were reports that the entire film, Kabali had been leaked online. However, later the production house confirmed that this was a hoax. Now, a two-minute clip, which looks like Rajinikath’s intro scene from the movie has been leaked. A member from the crew has confirmed that it is indeed part of the movie. “Somebody has recorded the clip while a special screening was done for Rajinikanth himself in the US, which was later leaked,” said the source. The fans are not happy about it. Actor Amitash Pradhan, used his Facebook page to express his disappointment. He said, “I just saw an image of what was the introduction scene from Kabali.
Absolutely disgusted that such a thing could happen. How does anyone have the heart to kill a film, with half of the world waiting for it?” He further adds, “Terrible. Please do not even think of watching that clip on Facebook or YouTube. Please report it if you do come across it.” There are even WhatsApp messages that allegedly narrates the story of Kabali. Fans, however, pledge that they will not commit the ‘sin’ of watching an illegal version of the film.
Vijay Andrews, an ardent Rajini fan and member of his fan club says, “The stardom of the Superstar is such that these will not affect the movie but it is heart-breaking to hear such news despite making so many efforts to curb any kinds of leaks.”
The Kabali team too has created a special site and released a number to report any form of piracy. Addl. Director General of Police, Sunil Kumar Singh says, “We understand that the film is much-anticipated. We are carrying out raids and taking adequate measures to ensure nobody watches it illegally. These raids will continue even after the release.”
