Chinnaraj slept beside dead bodies for two days

When Chinnaraj was questioned about the stench emanating from the house, he told the landlord that a rat had died inside the house and he was about to clean the house. He later informed the house owner that he has cleaned the house, but he merely locked it and fled from the scene on Thursday. 

When Ram Bahadur realised that the stench was still emanating from the house, he suspected something was not right, and passed on the information to the Royapettah police. 

Police said Chinna Raj committed the multiple murders at around 3 am on Tuesday and slept in the same house. He then locked the house next morning and went to work as usual. He got drunk at the night and came back home and slept in the house with the dead bodies that night as well. When the decomposing bodies started stinking, he used a room freshener to reduce the stench and continued to sleep in the same house. 

Police said Chinnaraj had tried to divert the attention of the police by undressing the bodies of the victims and spread clothes and other articles in the room to give the impression that there had been a struggle and some outsiders were involved. 

However, his actions and the lies that he had told about his family, lead the police to him.
