Seven luxury cars stolen, 5 recovered

Seven luxury cars were reported stolen from the car parking yard of Hyundai Motor Plaza at Manapakkam in the city, coming under Nandambakkam police limits, early on Wednesday morning after attacking and gagging the security guard.

The police jumped into immediate action and retrieved five stolen vehicles, which were found abandoned at Valasaravakkam area in the city. Acting on complaint from the Security guard Manoharan, who said that a gang attacked him and drove away with seven luxury cars from the yard, police alerted all the check posts in the city and at Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Villupuram and Vellore districts. Police sources said patrolling was also intensified. 
‘’Following this, five stolen cars were recovered from Valasaravakkam area,’’ the sources said, adding, the culprits had abandoned the five  cars and had escaped in the other two cars. Based on the footage recorded in CCTV cameras in the area, police said the culprits would be nabbed soon and special teams have been formed in this connection. Stating that those who were in the know of things were behind the car thefts, police said the gang was spotted in a sticker shop at Valasaravakkam area on Tuesday night where they were found preparing fake registration numbers which were pasted in the stolen cars.
