Financier hacked to death in Periamet

Police said Bharasmal Jain (59), a resident of Kilpauk was hacked to death by a gang of four persons who had come in an auto at Baker’s Street around 11 am in the morning. 

Police said Jain died on the spot due to deep injuries on his neck, head and chest. His body was later moved to Government General Hospital. Police have accessed footage from a private CCTV camera in the locality and claimed to have some strong leads to the accused. Sources told DTNext that the gang comprised of contract killers who presumably have been tracking the movement of Bharasmal Jain for the last few days. 

The victim was on his way to his office at Sowcarpet on a two wheeler when the gang attacked him. Police said the motive could have been disputes over some financial transactions as the victim has been in the private financing business for many years. “Nothing seems to have been stolen from the victim and the murder does not appear to be one for immediate gain. We suspect a larger motive for the same,” a police official said. Police sources said the accused are most likely to be  arrested shortly.
