In a fervent letter, Jayalalithaa urged the cadre to caution the people about the threat posed by DMK-Congress combine. Holding the DMK-Congress combine responsible for the genocide of lakhs of innocent Sri Lankan Tamils, she said that both the parties have come together again by claiming that they are siblings.

Underlining that the May 16 election will be a pointer to the future of Tamil Nadu politics, the AIADMK supremo said that if the poison tree of family politics strengthened its roots, it would result in great danger to the individual freedom in Tamil Nadu.

Recalling the problems faced by industrial sector during the 2006-11 DMK regime, she said that all industrial ventures including cricket, cinema and media were under the monopoly of one family and all sections suffered badly.

Jayalalithaa also asked them to remind the voters that during the same period, functionaries of DMK at all levels became the ‘authority’ and involved in land grabbing and deprived the rights of the people.

She also charged that DMK was involved in propaganda using the corrupt money to subvert the unpardonable historic blunders it committed earlier.

“You should explain to the voters about my efficient governance, which has ensured security to their lives and property,” she said and added that the several welfare schemes benefitting all sections were introduced by the present AIADMK government in the state.

Listing out the achievements of her government, Jayalalithaa said that the during the last five years over 1.5 crore new employment opportunities were created and pointed out that more number of MSMEs have been started here. “A majority of the welfare schemes introduced by the AIADMK government came in for appreciation from the Central Government. Many states are now trying to emulate them,” she claimed.

According to her, the promises made in AIADMK manifesto, which was meticulously prepared by her, were aimed at continuing the welfare measures for the people of the state. She also reminded the cadre that their duty now was to publicise the promises in the manifesto the maximum extend possible.

Assurances such as 50% subsidy for buying scooters or mopeds, waiver of farm loans, 100 units power free of cost and increase in allocation of gold (four to eight grams of gold) under ‘Thallikku Thangam Scheme’ among others should be taken to people in every nook and cranny of the state, the AIADMK supremo said.
