BJP is the only alternative to AIADMK, DMK : Tamilisai

"The BJP alone can provide a corruption free regime in the State", she told reporters after inaugurating the election office at Kolathur constituency, where BJP candidate K T Raghavan was pitted against sitting MLA and DMK strongman M K Stalin.

Stating that people of the state were yearning for a change and a corruption free government, she had a dig at the DMK, saying, they have announced in their manifesto that prices of Aavin milk would be reduced by Rs. 7 per litre.

''Unfortunately, it was during their (DMK) regime that the prices of Aavin milk was hiked'', she added.

Tamilisai also claimed that allegations of irregularities in Aavin also broke out only when the DMK was in power.

 The BJP leader alleged that during the DMK rule, huge wealth from natural resources was looted, illegal sand mining too thrived. ''So they can never claim themselves to be an alternative to the AIADMK'', she added.

She said the government at the Centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been initiating a lot of welfare measures and people of Tamil Nadu were benefitted by their good governance. Referring to RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan's recent statement that over Rs 60,000 crore of unaccounted money was doing rounds in the state, Tamilisai said this shows that a few believe money power would get them victory. The Election Commission should act tough, she added.
